Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The Grapevine stands out for its fantastic menu, filled with authentic Turkish dishes. Customers often rave about the delicious meze, perfect for sharing, and the well-executed mixed grill, which showcases the restaurant's flair for flavor.

The inviting atmosphere appeals to many. It's not unusual to see families enjoying meals together, creating a lively and friendly ambiance. The attentive and friendly staff consistently receives praise for their efficient service, making every visit enjoyable.

Moreover, patrons appreciate the restaurant’s drink selection, from robust local wines to refreshing Turkish coffee. The dessert offerings, particularly the baklava, add a sweet end to every meal, leaving diners satisfied and likely to return.

Most Disliked

While The Grapevine enjoys a good reputation, some diners note that peak times can lead to longer wait times, especially on busy Friday evenings. Reservations are recommended during these hours to avoid disappointment.

Occasionally, few dishes may sell out, especially fan favorites during peak hours. One can never predict which items will disappear, leaving those vying for a specific dish in the lurch until the next visit.

The modest price increase over recent years has drawn some criticisms regarding value for money, though many still find that the quality of food and service outweighs these concerns. However, some might prefer a few more budget-friendly options amidst the more premium offerings.

Just went out for a mid-week meal, been meaning to try the Grapevine for a while. Glad I did. Superb food, well cooked, well presented, packed with flavour. Fair wine list. Good, prompt, friendly service. Fair prices (two-course with one glass of wine £20-£25) per head. Environment is clean, nicely decorated, well lit, warm. Large windows look onto Leys Avenue. Some seating outside. Letchworth keeps its town quite tidy and well lit, a pleasant location for this restaurant (especially on a warm early autumn evening). Sep2018. Re-visited Jul2022: the above review is still the case, with a mild increase in prices. Re-visited Apr2025: still superb, excellent quality food, brilliant service.

Delicious meal at The Grapevine today. Lots of authentic dishes and we made it a tapas style lunch by having a selection of starters. And were treated to a complimentary taster plate! Excellent service, great quality food and good value.

Been to this restaurant several times now and it never fails to impress. The staff are a great bunch and very friendly. The menu is lovely and there's a great choice of food to choose from. There's a friendly atmosphere and plenty of seating, never had to book but it can get busy. Very conveniently located in the town so easy to get to and there plenty of nearby parking.

Love this place. Great food and service. Recent upgrade has resulted in a sleek new decor and an upgraded menu. All the favourites still there though. Can't recommend highly enough.
